Participants bring their bikes and we show them how to do a basic inspection to make sure it’s in good running order. They learn how to clean and oil their bike, check their brakes and gears, and a few other tricks to make their riding experience more enjoyable. VBC Sunday Leisure Ride

By: VBCVancouver Bicycle Club (VBC) weekly leisure ride each Sunday morning at 10. We’ll average 15-20km per hour following bike routes around Vancouver, going to Iona Island or crossing to the North Shore. The ride will go 30-50 km with a coffee break somewhere in the middle. Helmets are required on all VBC rides and tours.

VBC Wednesday Night Pie Rides

By: Henry HVancouver Bicycle Club (VBC) members zip around the edges of Vancouver. Starting from Canada Place we climb to Prospect Point in Stanley Park, then along Beach to Science World, across to Kits, and out to UBC and back home along the bike routes of Kits. A fast, but friendly ride with several stops to collect everyone. The distance traveled is about 20 to 50 km, depending on how far you ride. Helmets are required on all VBC rides and tours.

Ride of Silence

Wednesday, May 15, 2013, 6:45pm - 8:15pm. Meet at 6:45, ride at 7.

By: Bruce HainesJoin cyclists worldwide in a silent slow-paced ride (max. 20 kph) in honor of those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways. We meet at Queen Elizabeth Park, on the corner of 33rd and Ontario St. at 6:45pm. We will ride down to the seawall, and along it to Stanley Park, to finish at Second Beach. Ride leaves at 7pm. Food and/or refreshments may be provided at the end of the ride. Formal attire is encouraged, but dress for the weather. The ride leaves rain or shine. Wear a helmet, and bring bike lights!
