Soft Serve Wednesday Bike Polo

Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 6:00pm. Games usually wrap up at dusk, depending on number and keenness of attendees.

By: East Van Bike PoloSoft Serve Wednesdays is East Van Bike Polo's program for newer and casual players, held at Grandview Park on Sundays from 6 PM onwards, weather permitting. Court time for new players is prioritized, although regulars will be on hand to provide loaner gear and nerd out about polo. You can play a few non-competitive games of pick-up, or just to say hi and check things out. Bring your friends, too! To start playing, you should be able to ride a bike with one hand. Bike Kitchen Women & Queer Night

By: AMS Bike Co-op and Bike KitchenWomen & Queer Night takes place on the second Wednesday of every month. This free event offers a positive space for cis women, trans women, femmes, and all queer folks to take up space in the shop and learn about bike maintenance in a relaxed environment facilitated by women and/or queer-identified mechanics and volunteers. Fix your bike with our tools or just come hang out. Beginners are encouraged to come and ask all of the questions. Oh, and we provide free pizza too!

OCB Members & Volunteer Night

By: Our Community BikesOn the second and fourth Wednesday night of each month, Our Community Bikes members and volunteers get to use the shop for free! this is a perfect time to get your bike ready for spring and summer riding. Not a member yet? Its easy. The cost is $40 per year. And this gets you access to free shop time on member nights, 10% off used parts, a vote at the OCB AGM, a one time free $5-$15 used part, and the sweet satisfaction of knowing you are helping out your community bike shop!

From building, maintenance to painting the bikes with their signature colours, its a fun way to get involved and learn about bike mechanics. No experience needed – we'll teach you!
