By: AMS Bike Co-op and Bike KitchenThe Pedals for the People (PftP) program was created by Our Community Bikes with the aim of increasing access to bicycles and bike repair for those who experience barriers to affordable forms of transportation. Through the help of volunteers and donors, we refurbish bikes and give them to low-income and marginalized people for free or for a sliding scale donation. Come to the Bike Kitchen’s Monday night volunteer night to help us build and repair bikes for Pedals for the People. By: Kickstand and Our Community BikesBike Club is a FREE drop-in bicycle mechanics program based out of Kickstand Community Bike Shop for people aged 12-19 years old based in East Van on Unceded Coast Salish Territories. Bike Club is a collaboration between Our Community Bikes ( Pedal Society) and Kickstand. At Bike Club, Teens can: -get FREE support servicing their bicycles -volunteer in exchange for a bike if they do not yet have one -learn bike mechanics skills -hang out in a supportive community atmosphere WOOHOO!
