Soft Serve Wednesday Bike Polo

Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 6:00pm. Games usually wrap up at dusk, depending on number and keenness of attendees.

By: East Van Bike PoloSoft Serve Wednesdays is East Van Bike Polo's program for newer and casual players, held at Grandview Park on Sundays from 6 PM onwards, weather permitting. Court time for new players is prioritized, although regulars will be on hand to provide loaner gear and nerd out about polo. You can play a few non-competitive games of pick-up, or just to say hi and check things out. Bring your friends, too! To start playing, you should be able to ride a bike with one hand. By: Our Community BikesOn the second and fourth Wednesday night of each month, Our Community Bikes members and volunteers get to use the shop for free! this is a perfect time to get your bike ready for spring and summer riding. Not a member yet? Its easy. The cost is $40 per year. And this gets you access to free shop time on member nights, 10% off used parts, a vote at the OCB AGM, a one time free $5-$15 used part, and the sweet satisfaction of knowing you are helping out your community bike shop!

Well come over and get orientated on how to get involved in our hella rad space! No need to sign up, just roll up at 6:30pm. All humans are welcome, adult and youth. You will get an overview of space, learn a bit about how OCB works, and how being a volunteer benefits you and the community. From building, maintenance to painting the bikes with their signature colours, its a fun way to get involved and learn about bike mechanics. No experience needed – we'll teach you! There’s no need to sign up beforehand, just drop in. All volunteers are provided with a free pizza dinner.
