Union Cycle Tune Up Tuesdays

By: Lisa GirbavThe last Tuesday of every month, the master technicians from Union Street Cycle set up shop at Roundhouse Radio to perform a no-charge mini tune-up for your bike during the Janice and Cory afternoon show. And, if you hook up and register with the VPD’s “Project 529” bike recovery app, you can ride by and pick up your ID badge.

By: AMS Bike Co-op and Bike KitchenEvery Tuesday (except holidays – check our calendar for shop closures), we run Purple and Yellow Volunteer Night from 6pm to 9pm at the Bike Kitchen. Simply drop in (no registration required!) and help us fix up injured P&Y bikes, build new members of the fleet, and paint the bikes their signature hues. No experience necessary – we have senior program leaders at every P&Y Volunteer Night to help you learn. People of all ages are welcome!

By: OCBWTQ (Women-Trans-Queer) Night is held from 6:30 to 9:30 pm on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at Our Community Bikes at 2429 Main Street. Although we strive always to make Our Community Bikes a safer space for all people and genders, these shop hours specifically welcome people who have been marginalized by the bike industry as a whole because of their gender or sexual orientation. WTQ nights are staffed by women and gender variant mechanics. Our Community Bikes recognizes that bicycle shops and accessibility to mechanical knowledge is dominated by hetero cisgendered men. Soft Serve Sundays Bike Polo

Sunday, February 5, 2017 at 1:00pm. Games usually wrap up in the late afternoon/early evening, depending on number and keenness of attendees.

By: East Van Bike PoloSoft Serve Sundays is East Van Bike Polo's program for newer and casual players, held at Grandview Park on Sundays from 1 PM onwards, weather permitting. Court time for new players is prioritized, although regulars will be on hand to provide loaner gear and nerd out about polo. You can play a few non-competitive games of pick-up, or just to say hi and check things out. Bring your friends, too! To start playing, you should be able to ride a bike with one hand.
