Velopalooza Fundraising/Promotion Meeting

By: To join this committee or attend, contact Maureen CameronVelopalooza it 10 days of bike fun, from Friday June 4 to Sunday June 13, following Bike to Work Week during Bike Month. During this week we hope to have all sorts of bike rides and events. Leading up to Velopalooza we also will be doing promotional events as well as all that's needed to make Velopalooza one of the highlights of the summer. Come to this meeting to help make this happen.

By: It's a leisure ride, no pressure.Weekly Saturday rides, starting out from Cap's Bicycle Shop in Sapperton at 8am sharp. Try to get there early, because the ride leaves right at 8am. If you're taking the skytain, get off at Sapperton Station – it's less of a hill to climb. This ride is to get people out and riding. And is a great way to meet new people.

VACC Streetwise Cycling Workshop

By: For more information or to register visit:Taught by CAN-BIKE certified instructors, this is a 4 hour course that builds traffic cycling skills for Adults who want to use their bikes for transportation. Through in-class, parking lot and on-road training, you will learn how to ride comfortably and safely in traffic, fit your bike properly, do a safety check and plan routes. Participants need their own bike and helmet.

By: Danelle Laidlaw (Ride Organizer)With routes of 25, 50, and 100 km, the Pacific Populaire is Greater Vancouver's first major public randonneur ride of the cycling season. Since its inception in 1986, the focus of this event has been to encourage participation by all cyclists regardless of fitness level, cycling experience, or age. For some, the ride is a challenge to turn in a fast time, a personal best, or to complete a greater distance than in a previous year. Others will be out for a relaxed spring ride, fresh air, and exercise. Cost is $25 ($18 pre-register)
